American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section

Fletcher Handley has been active for many years in the Tort, Trial, and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the American Bar Association. He is a former Chair of the Automobile Law Committee and testified before the US Senate Commerce Committee in 1999 on behalf of the ABA in opposition to the proposed National No-Fault Auto Insurance.

Fletcher has served on the TIPS Council, 2000-2004, and is also a former chair of the TIPS Plaintiff’s Task Force. He taught and served as a mentor at the National Trial Academy in Reno, Nevada, in 2003, and is currently a member of the National Trial Academy Board.

He has also been a member of the TIPS Scholarship Fund Board for many years and currently serves as chair of the board. The Scholarship Fund Board has awarded $250,000 to minority and disadvantaged lawyers over the past 10 years to assist them in attending TIPS meetings and seminars. Thus helping to ensure diversity within the section, as well as equal opportunity, regardless of ethnicity, gender or practice setting.
